Thomas G. Hartman
Senior Director: Lean Consulting and Business Development
North American Airbag Division of Autoliv North America
In October of 2005, he was named Senior Director of Queretaro Operations for the Airbag Division of Autoliv North America. In this position he was responsible for the financial performance of the Queretaro Operations as well as the Mentoring and Development of the Management personnel within the Queretaro Operations. In addition, during his tenure in Queretaro, he was responsible for leading a team of people that justified, planned and initiated the construction of Autoliv’s third manufacturing plant in the central Mexican state of Queretaro.
Autoliv is the world’s foremost producer of automotive safety systems with worldwide sales of $US 6.2 billion. Autoliv has over 80 facilities in 30 countries worldwide and serves every automaker in the world.
For 2 years prior to his current assignment, Mr. Hartman was Director of Quality for the North American airbag division of Autoliv North America and for one year prior, he was Director for APS (Autoliv Production System) proliferation within North America.
Mr. Hartman joined Autoliv in August of 1996 as Vice President of Design Engineering and Product Development of Morton International’s Automotive Safety Products Division.
Mr. Hartman earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Indiana University, and subsequently studied Business Administration at Butler University in Indianapolis Indiana.
